Use the command prompt on a device

The Direct Support Command lets you enter commands and view the results directly in the N-able N-central user interface. This provides a fast, efficient way to perform specific functions without starting a separate remote control session.

This feature is only available for managed Windows devices with N-able N-central agents installed.

Start the session

  1. Go to ViewsAll Devices and click the Network Devices tab.
  2. Select the device Name.
  3. Go to Tools > Command Prompt.
  4. Select Start Session to connect to the device and display the Command Prompt.

Run Commands and End the Session

  • When the Command Prompt appears, type your command and press Enter.

  • To save a record of the session, select History to download a text file.

  • When you’re finished, select End Session.

Although PowerShell works in most instances within the command line, it is not fully supported at this time, and you may encounter operational difficulties using it in this window.
